OIL CHANGES REDUCE ANNUAL CAR MAINTENANCE COSTS

CAUTION! Oil in an engine that has been running is EXTREMELY HOT! Oil draining from a hot engine can result in a bad burn if it comes into contact with your skin. _________________________________________________________________

SAVE GAS AND MORE

Regular oil changes reduce annual car maintenance costs two ways. Clean oil reduces engine wear and extends the life of your engine as compared to running dirty oil. And an engine with clean oil uses less energy than one with dirty oil.

U.S. Department of Energy Fuel Economy Tips shows that using the correct viscosity (thickness) oil will save at least 2% or $.05/gallon on every gallon of fuel you buy as compared to using a thicker oil. And dirty oil is much thicker than even a heavy, SAE 40 engine oil.

Increased viscosity increases the energy needed by your engine just to keep running. Changing oil and filter according to the manufacturer’s recommendations will help you beat high gas prices, and extend the life of your engine.

If you’re a car maintenance DIY type, get some low cost oil change stickers to be sure you have a handy record that keeps you on schedule.

ONLINE OIL CHANGE INSTRUCTIONS

If you’re not sure how to do this car maintenance DIY procedure, you can find oil change directions in "Maintenance Tips" in the DO IT YOURSELF section of the Home Page at partsamerica.com .

When you get to the Maintenance Tips page you'll find Changing Oil and Filter in the "Filters" section. Follow the safety rules and don't forget, oil coming from an engine that's been running is HOT!

Even in this time of ridiculously high oil prices, motor oil is still a relatively cheap item to purchase, but an expensive item to ship to your home.

You can order most motor oil brands and filters at most local auto parts stores online. You can often place the order online, pay for it online, and have it waiting at the store for you to pick up without a wait.
