Some facts about oil companies are, believe it or not, really good.

It turns out that some of the big oil companies we love to hate are doing positive things to assure all of us a bright energy future. Most oil companies have renewable energy projects of one sort or another.

But some oil companies are going the extra mile and making huge financial investments in renewable energy and other environmentally friendly technologies. If someone gave awards for sustainable energy commitments, the companies listed here would be strong contenders.

Buying fuel from companies that invest in sustainable energy technologies is like making a direct investment in those technologies. These folks are fully aware that they are not so much in the oil business, as they are in the business of providing energy, sustainable energy.

The next time you need to fill up, consider buying from people who put your money to work developing technologies and resources that help increase renewable energy supplies, and compete directly against high oil prices.
