FINDING CHEAP GAS MADE EASY

Finding cheap gas prices in US service stations can seem like a daunting task. It never fails that when you’re on a road trip and fill up with gas, that you drive a few miles down the road, and end up finding cheaper gas.

Frustrating? You bet.

But now there are practical solutions.

USE A GPS TO FIND GAS PRICES

Microsoft is now providing a subscription service that provides gas prices, weather info, stock prices, and a lot more. A growing number of GPS units are offering free introductory trials of MSN Direct.

Some new models of Alpine, Pioneer, and Garmin GPS are including introductory trials of MSN Direct. The models change frequently so be sure to check MSN Direct for the latest info.

If you’ve been waiting for prices to go down on GPS systems the Microsoft Streets and Trips with GPS includes a plug in module that turns your laptop computer into a GPS. Be sure to get the software that’s labeled “with GPS”.

A couple of caveats are in order. If finding cheap gas on your GPS means you have to take a detour to get it, it’s up to you to know if you really want to go into the neighborhood the GPS suggests. It’s also up to you to figure out if you save enough money to drive the extra distance to get the cheap gas.

Still, the neat thing about using the GPS for finding cheap gas is that it can show you who has the best price, and how to get there using the least energy.
