GET GAS CHEAP BY UNDERSTANDING OCTANE

You can get gas cheap, or at least cheaper, by understanding
Octane
.
Check your owner’s manual to determine the octane rating of gasoline you should be using.
In most cases, unless you have an expensive sports car, you probably should be burning the cheapest gas on the pump. It’s all your car needs.
Higher octane numbers mean more anti-knock compounds in the gasoline mix. These compounds allow higher compression engines that are found almost exclusively in sports cars.
Higher octane does one thing and one thing only; it keeps high compression engines from knocking, or pre ignition. Octane adds nothing by way of heat energy to a gallon of gasoline. In most cases, you just don’t need to know how to increase octane of gasoline you use to get maximum performance from your car.
Actually octane does do a second thing; it takes more money from your wallet if you don’t really need it.
